Makaton Sponsored Sing-along

Thank you to everyone who joined in with our sponsored makaton sing-along. Children and staff enjoyed the songs and worked really hard to master the signs - well done!

It was great that so many children wanted to learn how to make friends and include all children in the activities we do at school.

The grand total raised is now £435!!!!! Fantastic! This will make a tremendous difference to the playground equipment .

Thank you to the Parents' Association.

When the School Council asked the Parents' Association to donate money to buy toys and games for the playground they received this generous reply.

The money has been very well spent - look at these children having a great time at playtime.

Better Playtimes and Lunchtimes - the Buddies















The School Council were really impressed by how many children volunteered to be playground Buddies. They interviewed them to find out their great ideas.



The Buddies help others in many ways - in the lunch hall, looking after other
children and tidying away toys and equipment.

Mossford Green School Council

The members of the School Council do a fantastic job talking to children in their classes to find out the views and opinions of pupils through-out the school.

The aims of the School Council are:

• To improve the school for everyone
• To involve children in making decisions
• To include children’s ideas
• To help make important decisions - e.g. Buddies
• To be fair - e.g. judging competitions
• To raise money for special projects
  
  

Red Nose Day

Children at Mossford Green Primary School in Fairlop Road, Barkingside, entertained each other by bringing there favourite puppets in to class.

The children each donated 50p.  A spokesman for the school council said "we called it bring a friend day,because we think that everyone should have a friend and someone to care for them."

"Red nose day is important for children in Africa as they do not have as much as we have. We are donating money to build schools, to have an education and have better health."
